Jay Border, Founder
I’m a veteran military officer and growth-focused executive with over 20 years of experience leading operations, business development, and strategic transformation across the defense, government, and commercial sectors.
For the past five years, I’ve led a management consulting practice, serving as a fractional executive for multiple companies across diverse industries. These roles included Chief Operating Officer, President of Operations, and EVP of Strategy & Operations. These weren’t surface-level advisory roles. I was embedded in the day-to-day leadership and responsible for scaling teams, transforming operations, and delivering results across sectors like e-commerce, direct-to-consumer retail, defense-focused contract manufacturing, big data/artificial intelligence, and national security contracting.
Before that, I led a team of business development executives at a Fortune 500 technology consulting and advisory firm, where I was responsible for expanding new business across ten states. I also spent more than 12 years as a Naval Intelligence Officer and senior operations leader in the special operations and intelligence communities.
Today, I’m focused on acquiring, operating, and growing one exceptional small business. I’m especially interested in working with a retiring owner who wants to protect what they’ve built and transition it to someone who understands both people and performance.
I’m not a financial buyer or a private equity fund. I’m a veteran, a father, and a long-term operator who’s betting on himself to continue building something meaningful, sustainable, and enduring. I believe great businesses are built and preserved by leaders who respect the people behind them and I’m here to carry that forward with care and purpose.
